RIJEKA, Jan 24 (Hina) - Croatia has made progress in the protection of human rights, but massive violations of economic and social rights are still a burning problem, the secretary of the Amnesty International Office in Croatia, Edin
Tuzlak, said in Rijeka on Thursday. Also violated are the rights of some Croat refugees, and Serbs, who are being prevented from claiming back their property, Tuzlak said. Relations between the AI office and Croatian ministries have improved and the office has been receiving feedback information from the ministries much more regularly. This evening Tuzlak will hold a lecture at the Rijeka Faculty of Philosophy as part of a campaign aimed at stimulating students and professors for work in AI. After the lecture, a local AI group will be formed as the sixth AI group in Croatia. AI Croatia has around 300 activists.(hina) sb rml
