recent assault on Ivan Caleta, one of the owners of Croatia's Nova TV

An unidentified person shot Caleta in the legs twice in downtown
Zagreb on Monday.
The statement read the SEEMO had been notified about several threats
made against media people in Croatia this year.
Any threat against media publishers, owners, editors, or journalists
has negative consequences for independent and professional journalism
in Croatia, the statement said.
