"Croatian media sources have reported in recent days that the U.S.
Embassy was dictating to the leadership of the HDZ who should or
should not be appointed as the new Minister of Defense. These
reports are incorrect," the report said.
"The U.S. Embassy has not made any demands or suggestions regarding
which individuals should be included in the new Croatian
government," the embassy said in the statement.
The U.S. Embassy is ready to engage with the members of the new
Croatian government and continue "our productive and friendly
bilateral relationship", the statement said.
