Rexhepi and the UN Civil Administrator, Harri Holkeri, fly to
Brussels to attend a ministerial session of the EU-Western Balkans
Forum, set for Tuesday.
Tomorrow's session is expected to define standards which Kosovo
authorities should meet until mid-2005 when a discussion on the
province's final status is to begin.
Rexhepi told reporters that Kosovo Serbs were only formally
participating in the work of local institutions, following
instructions from Serbia. That is why Kosovo Serbs had not
appointed their representatives in Kosovo's delegation for the
Brussels forum.
Foreign ministers of 15 current EU and 10 future member-states as
well of three EU hopefuls will meet with their counterparts from
Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia-Montenegro, Macedonia and
Albania, covered by the Stabilisation and Association process.
This is the first ministerial meeting of the EU-Western Balkans
Forum, which was set up at the EU summit in Thessaloniki last June.
