An idea was put forward that the forum should become a regular
annual gathering of government officials, business people and
scientists from the region on the model of the world economic forum
in Davos, Switzerland, with sponsors changing every year.
This year's forum was held under the sponsorship of the Chairman of
Bosnia-Herzegovina's Council of Minister, Adnan Terzic, and next
year the sponsor would be Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski.
Participants in the two-day event, held under the title
"Competitors and/or Partners on the Road to the European Union",
underlined the competitiveness and compatibility of regional
economies.
It was agreed that in addition to the existing multilateral
organisations, cooperation should be strengthened among business
people and companies to launch joint ventures in regional and third
markets.
