ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, Nov 19 (Hina) - The International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has summonsed the
director of the Podgorica-based daily Dan, Dusko Jovanovic, to
appear before the Hague-based tribunal on December 4 and enter his
plea to the charges of having revealed the identity of a protected
witness, the ICTY reported on Wednesday. #L#
Jovanovic is indicted because last August the daily under his
editorialship revealed the identity of protected witness K-32 who
testified at the trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan
Milosevic.
In the indictment for contempt of court issued in April, the ICTY
Prosecutor's Office claims that Jovanovic had deliberately
revealed the name of the protected witness in order to, among other
things, raise the sale of the daily.
Under the ICTY regulations, the penalty for contempt of court could
be up to seven years in prison and/or up to EUR200,000.
