SISAK, Nov 18 (Hina) - Croatian True Revival (HIP) leader Miroslav
Tudjman told an election rally in Sisak on Tuesday that the
forthcoming parliamentary elections "are equally important for
Croatia, its survival and future as those held in 1990." #L#
Tudjman, who heads the list of candidates of the coalition of his
party and the Croatian Bloc (HB) in constituency no. 6, said the
November 23 vote would decide "what Croatia will be like in the
future, whether we will preserve our economic sovereignty and be an
equal partner to Europe or we will be its colony and servants."
Stressing that the programme of this coalition was founded on the
original policy of the late president Franjo Tudjman, his father,
the HIP leader said: "We want a strong and successful Croatia as a
country of social justice in which we will be able to live in dignity
and prosperity. We want to join the European Union, but that is not
our goal but a means to an end. We want to preserve our economic
sovereignty in Europe, our national and cultural identity, and be
our own masters."
