rally in Imotski on Wednesday to "replace the traitorous
government". #L#
"That traitorous government was entrusted by foreign agents with
destroying the state and the army, sowing dissension among the
people, returning Serbs and selling property so that Croatia could
become easy prey for world brokers who will push it into a Balkan
union," said Podrug, who heads the HCSP-HKDU (Croatian Christian
Democratic Union) slate in constituency no. 10.
He said that fugitive General Ante Gotovina, who is wanted by the
Hague war crimes tribunal, would be appointed military chief-of-
staff after the election.
Podrug said the HCSP-HKDU coalition was interested in cooperation
with the Croatian Democratic Union, the Croatian Bloc, and the
Croatian Party of Rights, and voiced hope to be part of the new
government.
He accused the Social Democrats (SDP) of having plundered the
people.
HCSP vice president Tadija Barun applauded party member Dubravko
Sumanovic for throwing eggs at SDP candidates in Imotski on
Sunday.
The rally was attended by some 300 people who sang songs about
Ustasha officials Jure Francetic and Ante Pavelic.
