to the post of party president. #L#
"If the SDP doesn't succeed, I will certainly tender my resignation
at the party convention in December," Racan said in an interview
with Vecernji List daily which will be published in its entirety on
Thursday.
However, Racan estimated that his party would not fare worse than at
the last parliamentary election in 2000.
Racan said he would insist on a more efficient coalition with less
blockades, stressing that "if that's achieved there will be a
coalition, and if it isn't, then there won't".
Racan said a "narrow" electoral result might cause an unstable
situation but added that "in the future, because of the effort we've
invested in stabilising it, Croatia will stand easier both a
political crisis and early elections".
