CROATIAN EDITION OF GLOSSARY OF E.U. TERMS PRESENTED

ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - The head of the European Commission Delegation to Croatia, Jacques Wunenburger, and the Croatian Minister of European Integration, Neven Mimica, on Wednesday presented the Croatian edition of "A Glossary - Institutions, Policies and Enlargement of the European Union". #L# This is the first translation of the glossary into the Croatian language, whose purpose is to acquaint the Croatian public with EU institutions and policies and European integration processes. Mimica expressed hope that Croatia would win candidate status for EU membership by the middle of 2004 and start accession talks before the end of that year. Mimica said that the next parliament and government would have a historic opportunity to take Croatia to the gates of the EU and meet the expectations of three quarters of the electorate. Wunenburger stressed the informative value of the glossary, saying that it explained in a concise way basic terms relating to EU institutions and policies and the enlargement process.
