A spokesman for the Office of the international community's High
Representative (OHR), Mario Brkic, said on Tuesday that London had
made the relevant decision last week, and that Britain was going to
cover 40 percent of the membership fee. Sweden earlier secured
another 40 percent, and Bosnia's Central Bank the remaining 20
percent.
CEB membership will make it possible for Bosnia to have access to
the bank's funds which will be used for the return of refugees.
According to figures released by the UNHCR, since the conclusion of
the 1995 Dayton peace accords, 976,810 refugees and displaced
persons have returned to their pre-war homes in Bosnia.
