HR-POLITICS-Politika BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 5123 HINA Zagreb, 31 October 2003 CROATIA MEETS ALL FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS TOWARDS UN FOR 2003WASHINGTON/NEW YORK, Oct 31 (Hina) - Croatia has paid some US$600,000 to the United Nations, thus meeting all financial obligations towards the UN in 2003 and joining a small group of countries that have done so, a UN official has said. A UN under-secretary for administration, Catherine Bertini, on Thursday informed the UN General Assembly's committee in charge of financial issues that Croatia had fully met its financial obligations towards the UN for 2003. The payment includes the membership fee and contributions for peace operations. Croatia's meeting its financial obligations towards the UN is important in the context of its candidacy for a non-permanent member of the Security Council in the period 2008-2009 and its efforts to play an active role in international relations. Countries which do not meet their financial obligations lose th
