HB president Ivic Pasalic said Croatia today was faced with an
economic, social and moral crisis, and that the way out lay in a
consensus of all political powers since the problem outgrew
partisan interests.
Pasalic said the agreement signed today confirmed a willingness to
hold talks with non-governmental organisations and institutions.
HIP president Miroslav Tudjman said the origin of the economic and
national crisis was in the lack of a consensus on points on which
Croatia had been built. Such a consensus needs to be reached and a
new Croatia built, he said.
Croatia needs to restructure and reconceptualise the economy,
which is a prerequisite for entering the European Union, said
Social Academy president Stjepan Figuric.
The Academy is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit
organisation of citizens which strives towards the creation of a
socially and economically balanced society through the application
of the values and principles of the social teachings of the Church,
said Figuric.
