Kosovo's Zeri daily says Mesic and his Albanian counterpart Alfred
Moisiu agreed that Pristina and Belgrade should resume talks, but
that the final decision on Kosovo's status cannot be made without
taking into account the will of the Kosovo people.
Koha Ditore writes that the two presidents stressed that one must
not wait too long with resolving Kosovo's final status since that
might give extremists a chance to act.
Albania's daily Shekuli describes Mesic as a friend of the Albanian
people and commends his call for the re-establishment of ferry
lines between Croatian and Albanian ports and the introduction of a
direct flight between the two countries.
The Koha Joni and Gazeta Shiptare dailies higlight Mesic and
Moisiu's urging that the status of Kosovo be settled solely through
political dialogue.
The media in Albania also highlighted Mesic's meeting with Tirana's
popular mayor Edi Rama. Koha Jone says Mesic complimented Rama on
how he renovated the capital.
On Tuesday, Mesic and Moisiu toured the Butrint archaeological site
and the tourist resort of Saranda.
