ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - The EU high representative for the common foreign and security policy has no intention of mediating in arbitration between Croatia and Slovenia on the sea border, Javier Solana's spokeswoman Christina Gallach
said on Friday.

arbitration between Croatia and Slovenia on the sea border, Javier

She told Hina over the telephone Solana might extend his assistance
but would not act as either mediator or arbiter.
Citing Croatian diplomatic sources in Zagreb, Slobodna Dalmacije
daily said today that Solana "has offered to be the arbiter in the
Croatian-Slovene dispute over the state border at sea". Asked for a
comment, Gallach said this information was incorrect.
She went on to say that Solana was deeply involved with the entire
region and was always willing to help, but that he would not act as
arbiter in what she said was a bilateral issue that had to be settled
by the two countries' governments.
The extent of Solana's help depends on the two governments which, if
they want so, will ask for help and say what they need, Gallach
said.
