that it decided to build a highway from the Albanian seaport of
Drach (Durres) to Kosovo. #L#
Premier Fatos Nano described the construction of the highway, which
will cost about US$310 million, as an important impetus to economic
growth.
The construction of 175-kilometre-long four-lane highway will
start in late November. It should connect the northern part of
Albania with Kosovo via the Morina border crossing.
Tirana will seek international financial assistance for this
project. The World Bank has ensured funds for documents on
designing the highway.
