The German general will be the chief commander of KFOR in the next
year.
During a ceremony in Pristina, Gen. Mini said that the crisis period
was over and there were no more external threats for Kosovo. He,
however, warned that extremists on both sides were still active in
the region.
At the moment, over 20,000 NATO soldiers are deployed in Kosovo, and
their number should be reduced to 17,000 by the end of this year.
