BELGRADE, Sept 26 (Hina) - A contract was signed at the Serbian
Privatisation Agency on Friday on the sale of 79.5 percent of
"Beopetrol" to Russia's "Lukoil" oil company for a total of 210
million euros. #L#
Lukoil offered a total of 117 million euros for the majority share
in Beopetrol, a company trading in oil products. In addition, the
Russian company offered investments worth 85 million euros over the
next five years and an additional eight million euros for a social
programme.
Zagreb's INA oil company said in a statement to the Serbian press on
Thursday that Beopetrol was established from INA's confiscated
property and assets in Serbia and warned that the privatisation of
Beopetrol was in fact unlawful. INA also recalled that a dispute
over property ownership was being handled by the Commercial Court
in Belgrade and that procedure was underway to file a lawsuit with
the International Court in Strasbourg as well.
Asked by reporters about INA's ownership rights over Beopetrol,
Serbia's Privatisation Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic reiterated
that the privatisation of Beopetrol was all "above board".
