VUKOVAR, Sept 22 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Government Office for Detained and Missing Persons, Ivan Grujic, on Monday announced that exhumations were to begin on Tuesday on yet another mass grave found in the Croatian Danube
river region. Grujic confirmed recent newspaper headlines in Croatia that another mass grave was discovered in the region.
VUKOVAR, Sept 22 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Government Office
for Detained and Missing Persons, Ivan Grujic, on Monday announced
that exhumations were to begin on Tuesday on yet another mass grave
found in the Croatian Danube river region. Grujic confirmed recent
newspaper headlines in Croatia that another mass grave was
discovered in the region. #L#
Colonel Grujic, however, did not wish to disclose the location of
this, the 66th mass grave found in the region. In a statement for
Hina, he said that reporters would be permitted to visit the site on
Wednesday, September 24th and that they would then be informed of a
possible number o victims that may had been buried in the grave.
According to Grujic, to date 3,399 persons had been exhumed from 136
mass or individual graves in Croatia.
There is still 1,247 people missing from the recent war in Croatia.
