Members of the NATO-led peacekeeping force in the province are
investigating the attack.
Cernica, situated near the town of Gnjilane, is inhabited by 3,000
ethnic Albanians and 200 Serbs. Three Serb men were shot dead in the
village three years ago, but the perpetrator has not been
identified to date.
Serbian sources say that six Serbs have been killed in Cernica since
the deployment of the international peacekeeping force in 1999.
