Firefighters are unable to get there due to rough terrain, and the
only way to put the fire out is from the air, Senj County fire
marshal Damir Bozicevic told Hina.
A fire near the village of Prizba on the southern island of Korcula
was reactivated by the wind this afternoon. About 50 firefighters
are battling the blaze with the assistance of a firefighting plane.
Between 10 and 15 hectares of pine wood and underbrush is in flames,
the National Information Centre reported.
A fire also broke out on the northern island of Cres at around noon.
Efforts are under way to contain the blaze in an area of rough
terrain between Martinscica and Lake Vransko.
All fires on the southern island of Hvar are under control.
