"The army which was practically until yesterday accused of war
crimes should now keep the peace in crisis areas all around the
world. This is a clear political objective," Zivkovic said at a
regular news conference.
Serbian media reported yesterday that during his visit to the
United States, Zivkovic had told US officials and UN Secretary-
General Kofi Annan that the Serbian-Montenegrin army was willing to
participate in UN peace operations in Iraq and other crisis areas.
