Dzanko is suspected of having violated the humanitarian law.
Some 15 days ago, Dzanko's attorney requested of the Croatian
Defence Ministry, the government and the President's Office eight
documents necessary for his client's testimony, of which six are
the commands issued by the Croatian Army chief-of-staff. The
attorney said on Tuesday he had not yet received all documents
necessary to prepare a defence.
"Of eight documents requested, I haven't received any to date,"
lawyer Nenad Boban told Hina on Tuesday.
The government's office for public relations confirmed in a
statement on Tuesday that the requested documents had not been
found yet, but said the government was investing every effort to
find them and forward them to Dzanko on time.
Boban fears he might receive the documents at the last minute. The
interview with Dzanko is scheduled for today and Friday.
Investigators with the UN tribunal for the former Yugoslavia are
expected to interview Dzanko about war-time events from 1991 and
1992, when he was a military commander.
