ZAGREB, Aug 6 (Hina) - The National Statistics Office on Wednesday reported a further rise in employment in Croatia. Citing the figures for June, it said that the number of employed stood at 1,372,608, which was an increase of 0.9
percent on May. The hotel and restaurant industry saw the highest increase of 10.3 percent, which was attributed to the influence of seasonal trends on employment. On the other hand, a drop in employment of 0.7 percent was recorded in agriculture. Unemployment fell by 3.4 percent in June compared to the previous month. At the end of June, 319,700 unemployed people were registered with the Croatian Employment Agency. The unemployment rate in June was 18.9 percent compared to 19.6 percent in May.(hina) vm
