CROATIA VOWS TO RETURN PROPERTY TO SERB REFUGEES - BH MINISTER

BANJA LUKA, July 26 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Mirsad Kebo said in an interview with Nezavisne novine of Saturday that Croatia had vowed to return private property to Croatian Serb refugees temporarily settled in Bosnia by the end of the year.
#L# Kebo discussed the issue with senior Croatian officials earlier this week. In the interview with the Bosnian Serb newspaper, he pointed to different figures as to the number of refugees. Bosnia has registered 24,000 Croatian Serb refugees who wish to return to pre- war homes, while the Croatian government says the figure stands at 2,600. According to Kebo, the Croatian figure refers to the number of people who have applied for the restitution of tenancy rights. "For this reason we have set up a commission at the level of assistant ministers which has to arrive at reliable data on refugees in Croatia and (Bosnia), so that information on ways of solving their property and tenancy rights can be available to everyone," the minister was quoted as saying.
