The fight erupted when Dimitru Mitu scored the second goal for
Dinamo, which prompted fans to rush onto the pitch. Swiss referee
Carlo Bertolini had to stop the match, and the players of both teams
ran to the locker rooms.
From the very start the match was on the verge of incident. First,
Partizan goal-keeper Radovan Radakovic hit Dinamo assistant coach
Djuro Bago. Then in the 26th minute, when tensions had risen among
the players, the referee sent off Dinamo's Kranjcar and Partizan's
Duljaj, after which fans rushed onto the pitch for the first time.
After a brief interruption, the match went on.
The second incident took place in the 43rd minute, but it was only
after the third incident that the referee decided to stop the
match.
