OPPOSITION WALKS OUT OF SESSION AFTER THEIR MOTION IS TURNED DOWN

ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - MPs of four opposition parties left the parliament hall at the beginning of a session Wednesday, protesting against the dismissal of their demand that a debate on the privatisation of the oil company INA be held today, i.e. before the government decides on selling 25% plus one share in INA to Hungary's MOL on Thursday.
#L# The benches of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), the Croatian Party of Rights/Croatian Christian Democratic Union (HSP/HKDU) and the Democratic Centre (DC) did not accept a proposal by parliament President Zlatko Tomcic that the privatisation of INA be discussed at a new, 35th extraordinary session on Saturday. The opposition believes it is pointless to debate an accomplished fact given that the government will make the decision tomorrow. Tomcic said that necessary documents for a debate on INA had not been submitted, and added that parliament could annul the government's decision if it was not satisfied with it. The opposition left the session because of "the belittling of parliament and the parliamentary minority". (hina) it
