ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Monday passed a new family law and a new definition of a mother which is equal to the definition of a father, and which opens a possibility of denying the motherhood.

The new law gives the right to the woman with whose egg cell the baby
was conceived to deny the right to motherhood to the one who
delivered the baby only if the egg cell was used without her
consent.
The family law, adopted in parliament this evening, allows minors
to be married and allows the court to marry cousins and the children
of half brothers and sisters in special cases.
Parliament also adopted a law on same sex partnership - the first
Croatian law which regulates homosexual rights.
Deputies adopted the law on the prevention of domestic violence,
under which the violent person will be instantly removed from home
to a period of up to one month.
MP passed the law on the gender equality and several other acts.
Parliament will resume its 33rd session on Tuesday.
