"The investigation has so far revealed that Borislav Mikelic was
not a member of any criminal organisation or group and that he has
absolutely nothing to do with the killing of Djindjic or with the
activities of any criminal organisation," Mikelic's attorney,
Zdenko Tomanovic, said. He added that his client was still formally
under investigation.
The police suspected Mikelic of arranging a meeting of Tomic and
Rade Bulatovic, former security adviser to the ex-Yugoslav
president Vojislav Kostunica, with the prime suspect in the
Djindjic assassination, Milorad Lukovic aka Legija.
Later today, folk singer Svetlana Raznatovic, who had also been
arrested in connection with the murder of Zoran Djindjic, was
released after spending nearly four months in custody, according to
her lawyer, Rajko Danilovic. Danilovic said that Raznatovic was
still under investigation because of her alleged ties with the so-
called Zemun clan.
