ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - The Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS)
maintains that a possible decision of the government to select
Hungary's MOL as the strategic partner for the national oil company
INA "is not a great success in privatisation, but yet another
failure, the consequences of which will be seen in the next few
years", said the HSLS chief Drazen Budisa on Monday. #L#
Budisa said at a news conference that "the euphoria which has risen
in Croatia over 505 million dollars (the biding offer of the
Hungarians for 25 percent plus one share in INA's stock) will soon
die down when one realises that this is the price for taking over 50%
percent rather than 25".
Budisa explained that this purchase would make it possible for the
Hungarian company to have 50-percent control as in INA's managing
and supervisory boards the weight of the Hungarian vote will be
equal to five Croatian votes. Therefore, the Croatian side will not
be able to make any crucial decision on the restructuring and
injection of fresh capital in the company on its own, he said.
