Picula thanked Widmer for his personal contribution to the
strengthening of bilateral cooperation. He also stressed the
exceptional role of the Swiss government in financing humanitarian
projects in the Knin area, economic development projects in eastern
Slavonia and mine clearance projects, the Foreign Ministry said in
a statement.
Switzerland allocated 1.1 million Swiss franks for mine clearance
projects in Croatia from 1996 to 2002.
