ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - The president of parliament and the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), Zlatko Tomcic, accused Deputy PM Slavko Linic on Saturday of problems in privatisation. #L# "If someone has made an issue out of Croatia's privatisation, it is Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic," Tomcic told the press when asked to comment on Linic's claim that HSS politicians would do better to make decisions than comment on privatisation. According to Tomcic, privatisation is taking place in abnormal circumstances because it is run in part by incompetent clerks with the sometime assistance of some cabinet members. Asked about the possibility of Rijeka's Viktor Lenac shipyard going bankrupt, Tomcic said that if it did file for bankruptcy, the question would have to be raised of who was responsible for "having mercilessly pumped the company with considerable amounts of money under very favourable conditions". He also said the question of whether the state did have a vision of what to do with the shipbuilding industry would also have to be raised. Tomcic said he would raise the issue of political liability for some failed instances of privatisation of agribusinesses. (hina) ha sb
