Petrinja authorities changed in line with the constitutional law on
national minorities under which Vera Solic of the NGL joined the
Town Council as a Croatian Serb representative, splitting even the
number of opposition and ruling bloc councillors 11 to 11. The
opposition, however, gained a new member when Miroslav Petracic
left the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) for the HSS.
Miroslav Gregurincic of the NGL is Petrinja's new mayor, Darinko
Dumbovic of the HNS the deputy mayor, while Miroslav Petracic of the
HSS is the Town Council president. The new ruling bloc now has 12
seats as against the 10 of the previous one comprised of the HDZ, the
Croatian Party of Rights, and the Croatian Christian Democratic
Union.
