ZAGREB, June 24 (Hina) - The international office of the Red Cross has said conditions in war crimes sections of Croatian prisons are very good, especially the conduct of prison administrations and guards towards the convicts, the Croatian justice, administration and self-government ministry reported Wednesday. #L# Minister Ingrid Anticevic-Marinovic was informed about the assessment by the head of the international Red Cross Mission, Yves Petermann, who visited the ministry today along with the head of Zagreb's Red Cross office, Martina Murgic. Petermann informed the minister that Red Cross representatives last year visited eight Croatian prisons 11 times and spoke to more than 50 inmates serving sentences for war crimes. The only criticism relates to confined space in a section of the Lepoglava prison, the ministry said in its statement. The ministry says that considering the good assessment, Red Cross's involvement programme for Croatian prisons will be significantly narrowed down in the coming period. (hina) lml sb
