Minister Bozidar Pankretic on Monday informed representatives of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture there are no bovine diseases in
Croatia, which should help lift the current ban on the export of
Croatian beef to the U.S. #L#
Pankretic is visiting Sacramento from June 18 to 25.
His talks with the U.S. officials, among them Agriculture Secretary
Ann Veneman, addressed the possibility of boosting the export of
Croatian farm produce to the United States and the inclusion of U.S.
companies in the privatisation of Croatia's agriculture and food-
processing.
Pankretic presented a draft food law, drawn up following EU
recommendations, and attended a ministerial conference on
agricultural science and technology.
