"By marking Statehood Day we pay tribute to all those who gave their
lives for Croatia and express respect to all who suffered,
struggled and made sacrifices for freedom, independence and
democracy. Thanks to them, we live today in our own country,
committed to creating a better and more prosperous social and
economic future for all citizens," the minister says in the message
among other things.
