"I most harshly condemn this crude, hooligan act the perpetrators
of which belong to political and nationalist circles. To simplify,
the perpetrators of this act have been manipulated," Burzan told
Podgorica's agency Mina.
Burzan said the incident took place in the moment when relations
between Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro were improving.
"We see serious progress in achieving regional integration. In such
an atmosphere nationalists are once again boycotting everything
which should enable a normal development of political relations in
this region," said Burzan expressing hope that the latest events
would not affect relations between Croatia and Montenegro.
Burzan said Montenegro did not feel responsible for the violent act
in Belgrade.
Stressing that the incident which took place after the European
waterpolo championship finals in which Serbia and Montenegro
defeated Croatia represented harsh violations of the Vienna
convention, the Montenegrin foreign minister said the authorities
in Serbia must not stop at political denouncement of this
incident.
The incident was also condemned by the Croatian Civil Initiative
from Montenegro's Tivat.
