Batic told Blic daily that Sljivancanin, arrested in Belgrade last
week, had been interviewed by the Belgrade district court's
investigating judge, who ruled detention pending extradition.
"Sljivancanin has 48 hours to appeal. If lodged, the appeal will be
processed by the Serbian Supreme Court," Batic said, adding that if
the court turned down the appeal, the investigating judge's
decision became final.
The case then goes to the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights
which rules on the extradition. Its date is set by the Interior
Ministry in agreement with the Hague tribunal.
