The officials discussed the return of refugees and displaced
persons, cooperation with The Hague U.N. war crimes tribunal and
recent national minority councils elections.
The return of refugees and displaced persons is not completed, but
is in its final phase, Granic said, adding that the process should
end by the year's end.
In line with laws, Croatia makes it possible for Croats who had fled
Bosnia and are living in homes of Croatian Serbs, to stay in
Croatia, through the building of new and reconstruction of
devastated houses, said Granic. He added that 80% of houses owned by
Serbs had been reconstructed so far.
The government will find a solution for citizens of Serb
nationality who did not own property in Croatia, but used social
flats during the Homeland War and want to return to Croatia,
securing them accommodation and return.
Granic and Semneby agreed that cooperation between Croatia and the
OSCE was good, and stressed that the two sides had increasingly
similar stands to finding solutions to certain issues, the
statement said.
