According to the British Embassy in Zagreb, Straw was speaking as he
introduced the bill on EU enlargement for its second reading in the
House of Commons.
Speaking about Croatia, Straw said his country backed Croatia's
application to join once it had met the required criteria.
"(Croatia) can count on our support as they carry out the necessary
political and economic reforms," he said.
