"Both topics are important for Croatia and we can particularly use
the second one to present our achievements, in order to in a way
stimulate other countries in the region to try to follow Croatia on
that path," Tomcic said.
According to Croatia's diplomatic circles, Croatia should use the
meeting primarily for bilateral talks, particularly with the
parliament presidents of Greece and Italy, the current and the
future chair of the European Union.
The meeting is expected to end with the adoption of a final
declaration.
The Adriatic-Ionian initiative is comprised of Croatia, Italy,
Greece, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and
Montenegro.
