STRASBOURG STRASBOURG, May 15 (Hina) - The Council of Europe (CoE) Ministerial Committee began its 112th conference in Strasbourg on Thursday at which it debates the CoE's future role in a Europe without divisions, the holding of a
third CoE summit, and measures to increase the effectiveness of the European Court of Human Rights.

Committee began its 112th conference in Strasbourg on Thursday at
which it debates the CoE's future role in a Europe without
divisions, the holding of a third CoE summit, and measures to
increase the effectiveness of the European Court of Human Rights.

Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula is attending. Before the
conference started he signed a convention on contacts concerning
children.
The conference was opened by CoE Secretary-General Walter
Schwimmer, while Malta's Foreign Minister Joseph Borg is
chairing.
Picula will outline Croatia's stands on the CoE's role in the
creation of a new political and legal structure in Europe, the third
CoE summit, the reform of the European Court of Human Rights, and
CoE activities in combating trafficking in humans, the promotion of
the free movement of people, and anti-terrorism.
Attending the conference are representatives of 45 CoE nations'
foreign ministries.
