CAVTAT CAVTAT, May 14 (Hina) - The eighth meeting of the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development began on Wednesday in the southern Croatian coastal resorts of Cavtat. The commission consisting of 35 members will sit until May 17 to discuss strategies of sustainable development in the Mediterranean.
CAVTAT, May 14 (Hina) - The eighth meeting of the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development began on Wednesday in the southern Croatian coastal resorts of Cavtat. The commission consisting of 35 members will sit until May 17 to discuss strategies of sustainable development in the Mediterranean. #L# Croatia's Environment Protection Minister Bozo Kovacevic as well as the minister of Monaco and Cyprus are active participants at the gathering. Countries in the Mediterranean founded the commission in 1996 with the aim of advising the governments of Mediterranean countries with regard to definitions and implementation of concepts for viable development and in particular with balancing out economic growth and environment protection. Members of the commission are reputable individuals from 20 Mediterranean countries, the European Union, representatives of regional and local governments, professional associations and the most renown non-government organisations.
