Pogorelic, who played works by Beethoven, Skryabin and Liszt, was
given a standing ovation by the delighted Zagreb audience in the
Vatroslav Lisinski hall.
Before the commencement of the concert, the academy's dean Frano
Parac thanked the famous maestro for his contribution to raising
funds for the academy, and appealed to other benefactors to ensure
funds necessary for the adaptation of new classrooms for the
academy.
The Academy of Music, established in the Croatian capital 80 years
ago, still does not have its own building.
