BELGRADE, May 7 (Hina) - Serbia and Montenegro's Defence Minister Boris Tadic said on Tuesday information on the export of Yugoslav arms to Liberia in 2002 was not anything new and was part of a scandal which broke out last autumn,
when it was discovered that the "Orao" institute from Bijeljina in northern Bosnia and the Belgrade-based "Jugoimport SDPR" company had exported arms and military equipment to Iraq.

Tadic told the news agency Beta that the news about preparations for
a new shipment of arms for countries under U.N. sanctions called for
the most radical reaction of competent institutions and political
organs.
He added that the country exported arms under extremely strict
control measures.
A U.N. commission controlling compliance with sanctions in Liberia
established that the firm "Temeks" from Belgrade, owned by Slobodan
Pesic, last summer exported to Liberia large amounts of weapons
with forged documents, according to which the final destination of
the shipments was Nigeria.
