The event was organised by the Croatian Mine Action Centre and it is being held under the auspices of President Ivo Josipovic.
Josipovic's envoy Zlatko Gareljic said that the annual conference was important as it promoted the new know-how and technologies for the removal of landmines.
There are still 600 square kilometres of mine-suspected areas in 12 Croatian counties, he said.
According to Gareljic, Croatian troops have been participating in international peace mission worldwide since 1999 and none of the Croatian soldiers has been killed. Currently, 470 Croatians are deployed in EU- or UN-led missions.
The conference on humanitarian demining ends on 28 April.
