ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, May 3, the president of the Croatian Journalists Association (HND), Dragutin Lucic, recalled that press freedom was the preconditon of all other freedoms.

In a statement, Lucic called on journalists to respect the HND Code
of Honour whose regulations "guarantee pluralism, participation,
and respect for the public".
He urged his colleagues to remember the numerous reporters killed
during the recent war in Iraq "who remind us of Croatian journalists
who were killed in the Homeland War in the line of duty".
