Friday stated that the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime offered a good chance for the future of the Iraqi people and the strengthening of peace and stability in that region. In a statement forwarded to Hina, the government said it hoped military operations in Iraq and the suffering of Iraqi citizens, Coalition soldiers, journalists and other people would end as soon as possible. In the current situation in Iraq, it is of vital importance that public order and peace are established, human rights are protected and humanitarian aid is delivered, in which the U.N. should play an important role, the government stated.
