the so-called ZOR, according to a statement released by the
government's public relations office on Wednesday. #L#
Union leaders decided earlier on Wednesday to terminate
negotiations on amendments to the Labour Act since their
suggestions regarding severance pay, dismissal notifications and
unemployment compensation were not taken into consideration.
Leaders of five Croatian union federations and independent unions
issued a press release requesting urgent talks with Prime Minister
Ivica Racan, and stressing that until this happened, they would not
take part in the work of a tripartite working group in charge of
harmonisation of changes to the Labour Act.
Premier Ivica Racan, who has previously been informed that progress
has been achieved at the negotiations on the matter, is concerned
over the termination of the negotiations, the government's press
release said.
