ZAGREB, April 4 (Hina) - Commenting on the Croatian Social Liberal
Party's (HSLS) refusal to support a bill on changing ID cards back
to include again personal identification numbers at Friday's
parliament sitting, Social Liberal Zeljko Glavan said the
parliament had become "a market place where laws can be bought".

Addressing reporters, Glavan warned about the damage and
complications caused to citizens by removing the personal
identification number from ID cards.
He claimed that whenever the ruling coalition had a guilty
conscience "it proposes conclusions like today's, which binds the
government to draw up a new concept of the citizen identification
number by June 1".
Glavan believes that "this has to do with the plastic credit card
business and attempts to squeeze money from citizens".
The Social Liberal accused the coalition of "bartering one of the
most stupid documents ever - the Croatian Peasant Party's textbook
standards". He also warned that the reform of the education sector
would cause huge damage.
